Job summary

Discovery Senior Living in California is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the operations of the community's buildings, grounds, security and mechanical assets. The role includes managing housekeeping, laundry and transportation services in line with policy and procedures.

You will lead capital budgeting, vendor contracts, safety initiatives and preventative maintenance, supervise the maintenance, housekeeping and transportation teams, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Four years maintenance supervision experience.
• High School Diploma or Bachelor/Technical degree in a related field.
• HVAC experience or training.
• Experience with electrical systems, phone systems, fire panels, emergency response systems and disaster preparedness.
• If use of personal vehicle is required for business purposes, you must hold a valid drivers license and pass MVR verification.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting governmental services during inspections and ensuring campus compliance.
• Collects, prioritizes, and assigns maintenance service requests in a timely, efficient manner.
• Develops the Capital Budget and annual maintenance budgets.
• Oversees construction, remodeling and maintenance to all Community buildings.
• Oversees and manages maintenance contracts, electrical systems, phone systems, fire panels, emergency response systems and disaster preparedness.
• Develops vendor relationships and negotiates contracts for maintenance services when appropriate.
• Conducts inspections on apartments prior to occupancy.
• Develops and implements a comprehensive preventative maintenance program and work order system.
• Responsible for leading the Safety Committee.
• Plans, organizes, develops and leads housekeeping/laundry operations in accordance with laws.
• Maintains equipment and supplies to avoid waste and ensure safety.
