Job summary

Oklahoma State University is seeking an Assistant Supervisor for the Facilities Management FSS-Moves team on the OSU campus in Stillwater. You will supervise moves, recycling, special events, and surplus needs, and plan schedules to maintain staffing levels while ensuring efficient completion of tasks.

The role requires strong customer service, effective communication, and problem solving; you will help with equipment maintenance, purchasing, and technical guidance in fabrication and service.

Qualifications

• High School/GED with six years of related work experience or two years post-secondary education with four years of related work experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Forklift certification within 90 days of hire.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Ability to work independently, with leadership/supervisory experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise campus moves, recycling, special events, and surplus needs; assess and assign tasks.
• Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain staffing levels and respond to fluctuating workloads.
• Assist supervisor with purchasing and maintaining moving, recycling, and event equipment (lifts, jacks, tables, chairs, staging, etc.).
• Provide technical guidance in fabrication, installation, maintenance, and service.
• Interact with customers and staff professionally; respond to emergencies and after-hours needs.
• Perform snow and ice removal and respond at any time as scheduled.
• Work in varied environments with potential hazards and promote safety.
