Job summary

EMCOR Facilities Services, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial and industrial facility equipment. The role supports operations by maintaining building systems and ensuring reliability and safety.

The successful candidate will communicate effectively, work independently and with teams, and document work in the CMMS while upholding safety standards and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; trade school, vocational training, technical certification, or related coursework preferred.
• MA Refrigeration Journeyman License required; valid driver's license.
• Forklift, aerial lift, OSHA, or trade certifications are a plus.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret safety procedures and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance & Inspections - Perform scheduled PM activities on facility/building equipment; monitor conditions and report deficiencies.
• Equipment Maintenance & Repair - Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs; assist senior technicians.
• Customer Service & Communication - Communicate professionally with customers, occupants, vendors, and team members.
• Safety & Compliance - Adhere to safety policies and OSHA regulations; use PPE and enforce lockout/tagout procedures.
• Vendor & Contractor Support - Monitor subcontractors and ensure safe, organized work areas.
• General Facility Support - Support projects and keep work areas clean and organized.
