Job summary

New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC Health Department) seeks a seasoned Facility Manager to supervise custodial and clerical teams and to oversee district health facilities across boroughs. You will coordinate maintenance, cleaning, security, and compliance with OSHA, Article 28, and city regulations while collaborating with vendors and agency partners.

The role reports to Regional Manager, covers multiple facilities citywide, and requires strong leadership, budget

Qualifications

• Eight years of full-time experience supervising or administrating multiple facilities/buildings.
• Experience coordinating with contractors and managing capital projects.
• Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations (OSHA), and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administrative and operational activities of assigned facilities.
• Coordinate and evaluate maintenance and custodial services for district facilities.
• Liaise with DDC and contractors for renovations and capital projects.
• Ensure compliance with Local Laws, Article 28 and safety guidelines.
• Prepare daily facility reports and monitor action plans.
• Communicate with security teams to maintain secured facilities.
• Supervise custodial and clerical staff and coordinate with program managers.
