The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance with moderate latitude in responsibilities.

The role may involve duties aligned with Corrections Officer tasks to maintain custody, care, and control of inmates or detainees as needed. Responsibilities include ensuring materials, supervising maintenance staff, and carrying out preventive and emergency repairs across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years full-time experience in general maintenance, construction or related area.
• Ability to interpret electrical prints, diagrams, schematics and perform arithmetic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Surveys assigned jobs and ensures proper materials and tools are available.
• Directs work, provides technical assistance and inspects detainee maintenance staff work.
• Performs preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
• Operates equipment and machinery in the assigned area.
• May perform carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and minor construction tasks.
• Maintains records of repairs.
• Performs duties of a Corrections Officer as needed.
