Job summary

GEO Secured Services is seeking a maintenance specialist to perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance across facilities. Duties include supervising detainee maintenance staff, performing carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs, and ensuring availability of tools and materials.

A strong communicator with safety mindset is essential. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of general maintenance experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years general maintenance and/or related construction trade experience.
• Valid, active driver's license required.
• Must have knowledge of equipment necessary for making proper repairs.
• Able to perform general plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Strong communication with residents and staff; respond quickly in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and machinery for preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
• Survey assigned jobs and ensure materials and tools are on hand.
• Direct and inspect detainee maintenance staff, providing technical assistance.
• Perform carpentry to repair or replace doors, windows, walls, flooring, roofing, etc.
