Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a maintenance specialist to perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance in a structured environment.

You will operate equipment, supervise detainee maintenance staff, and carry out carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs across facility systems. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work with residents and staff in a safe, orderly manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years general maintenance or related construction trade.
• Valid, active driver's license.
• Knowledge of equipment for proper repairs.
• Able to perform plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Effectively communicate with residents and staff; respond to emergencies.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be a United States citizen.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and machinery for preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
• Survey assigned jobs and ensure materials and tools are on hand.
• Direct and inspect detainee maintenance staff, providing technical assistance.
• Perform carpentry to repair or replace doors, windows, walls, flooring, roofing, etc.
• Carry out plumbing, heating, and air conditioning repairs, including furnaces and ductwork.
• Perform electrical work, such as repairing fixtures and control switches.
• Execute minor construction work using hand and power tools.
• Complete mechanical work on facility machinery, motors, and vehicles.
• Assist in maintaining the security of assigned detainees.
