Job summary

The City of Kingman is seeking a highly capable, journey-level Facilities Maintenance Specialist to perform a wide variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and technical tasks. You will repair, remodel, maintain, and custodialize municipal buildings and properties under the Building Maintenance Operations Supervisor.

You will interpret blueprints and work orders, manage varied assignments, and take ownership of selecting tools and methods. Opportunity exists to lead crews and oversee staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of building maintenance, construction, or repair experience.
• Supplemental education or technical training in a field related to building maintenance through a recognized trade union, technical school or equivalent, accredited college or university desired.
• Any combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the assigned work.
• Possession of journey-level certification in area of assignment (or demonstrated journey-level proficiency): electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, etc. preferred. (Tech II)
• Supplemental education or technical training in a field related to building maintenance through a recognized trade union, technical school or equivalent, accredited college or university desired.

Responsibilities

• Skilled Trades & Facilities Maintenance (55%): perform hands-on repairs, maintenance, and custodial tasks across City buildings, including carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, roofing, painting, and flooring.
• Project Planning, Estimating & Administrative Compliance (20%): study blueprints, draft drawings, estimate material and labor needs, and manage work orders and safety data sheets.
• Supervision, Scheduling & Contractor Oversight (15%): plan daily schedules, supervise staff and contractors, and serve as a technical resource for facilities personnel.
• Customer Service, Communication & Process Improvement (10%): deliver professional service, collaborate with staff and vendors, and drive process efficiencies.
