Job summary

The City of Meridian seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform basic to moderate maintenance across City facilities. You will work on carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting and remodeling tasks with supervision as needed.

The role emphasizes preventative, predictive and unplanned maintenance, vendor oversight, and project planning to ensure safe, efficient facilities operations.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED with a 2-year technical college certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum four years of experience in building and construction trades including plumbing, electrical, mechanical and HVAC maintenance.
• Experience in facilities repair, service and maintenance is required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair basic mechanical and electrical, heating and ventilation systems.
• Perform a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled building trades work.
• Maintain and repair buildings and offices; provide remodeling services requiring basic carpentry skills.
• Repair, replace, and install plumbing fixtures and appliances; install and repair lavatories and drinking fountains.
