Job summary

Salt-Lake-City-Corporatio is seeking a Maintenance Specialist IIB to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance across multiple trades, guiding junior staff and assisting senior teams. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, and coordinating with contractors to ensure city facilities meet standards.

The role requires knowledge of building systems, safety procedures, and the ability to read blueprints, with growth potential through a career ladder to the next specialist level.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of facilities maintenance, construction or repair experience in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Forklift certification required within six months.
• Building operators certificate within one year.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and manuals.
• Experience with CMMS/recordkeeping systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of materials, systems and codes for city facilities.
• Performs preventative maintenance on building systems and related components.
• Repairs and maintains facility systems and equipment; handles electrical and plumbing tasks as needed.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems and coordinates with external service providers.
• Monitors and manages work orders in CMMS and assists with budgeting and project reviews.
• Trains staff on safety procedures and regulates compliance with safety standards.
