Job summary

The University Guest House & Conference Center on the University of Utah campus seeks a Facilities/Maintenance Technician II to join our Facilities team, providing safe, reliable, and well‑maintained spaces for guests.

This role performs routine and moderately complex repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building systems, with guidance for more advanced work. Schedules vary by occupancy, events, and needs, including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a hospitality-focused environment.
• Willingness to perform routine and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and moderately complex maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting in guest rooms, conference facilities, public spaces, and other areas.
• Perform basic maintenance involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and other systems.
• Complete preventative maintenance according to schedules and procedures.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests with minimal guest disruption.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, materials, and inspections.
