Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for the AMG Clinic in Algonquin, IL. This full-time, first-shift role involves guiding facility and equipment maintenance tasks, with CMMS documentation and routine preventive checks.

You will work on mechanical/electrical systems, patient care equipment, and building infrastructure, receiving support as needed. Strong communication and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Driver's license required.
• 2-4 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
• Basic computer skills such as CMMS, building automation system, Microsoft Office.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Documents through use of the CMMS.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers, controls, etc. within defined parameters and with guidance.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair patient care equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables, etc. where not maintained by other departments.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical systems such as pneumatic tube, HVAC, refrigerators/freezers, ice machines, commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, piped medical gas systems, specialized water systems etc.
• Perform other routine to moderately complex maintenance in grounds, carpentry, painting, snow removal.
• Respond to emergencies (leaks, floods, power outages, etc.) as directed.
• Respond to occupant requests; perform zone maintenance rounding and update on corrective actions.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Inspect and repair fire doors, hardware, and smoke partitions.
• Read blueprints and manuals to complete assignments.
