About the Role

Are you mechanically minded, hands-on, and ready to support a dynamic scientific environment? We’re seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician II to join our agile, four-person team on site in Madison, WI. In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise in equipment maintenance—repair, calibration, and installation—and play a critical part in keeping our laboratory, manufacturing, and building systems running smoothly.

Schedule: First shift, Monday–Friday. Start between 7:30–8:30am, finish between 4:00–5:30pm (depending on start time and lunch break).

Responsibilities

Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting across all company facilities, labs, and manufacturing areas.
Handle work orders using our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Schedule and escort outside service providers as needed.
Respond to facility emergencies (in a rotating on-call program).
Act as subject matter expert on building components or manufacturing equipment; assist management with decisions and train fellow staff.
Document work in line with department SOPs and ISO 13485 requirements.
Support the general upkeep of work and shared spaces.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience: 2–5+ years in facilities maintenance (commercial, manufacturing, laboratory) OR technical education.
Education: High School Diploma required; technical degree strongly preferred.

Required Skills

Superior mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Familiarity with MS Office and email.
Valid driver’s license.
Experience with Building Automation Systems a plus.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work with hands/tools.

Preferred Skills

Experience in a Clinical and Research Grade lab settings; may encounter solutions and chemicals.
Use hand and power tools, testing equipment.
Work both indoors and outdoors; drive company vehicles as needed.

Pay range and compensation

$24-$26/hr

Regular, punctual attendance is required.
