Job Description

MGS has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our MGS Richfield Manufacturing team. The current opening will train on an 8-hour day shift and then move to either an 8-hour 2nd or 3rd shift role.

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician at MGS, you will be responsible for maintaining the facility and grounds, as well as performing tasks related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, environmental, and safety at the MGS Richfield facility.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform all facilities work related to building maintenance.
  • Monitor equipment closely and perform necessary testing to maintain the facility.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs and perform repairs as needed.
  • Use the IQMS Work Order system effectively, documenting work performed and parts used.
  • Ensure the building meets all safety and building code requirements.
  • Assist in coordinating construction projects, remodels, and other special projects.
  • Promote a positive team attitude among employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Supervise contractors and vendors related to maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors for efficient operations.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials following safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate MSDS documents.
  • Inspect the facility regularly for areas of concern and address them promptly.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required Experience
  • Completion of an accredited two-year technical college program or a four-year university program in a related field, with 2-5 years of related experience, or equivalent on-the-job training.
  • Mechanical skills including troubleshooting and repairs in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • LOTO and Forklift certification required.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and safety procedures.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic prints.
  • Understanding of general safety practices in the work environment.
