Job summary

Simon Property Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Columbia Center in the United States. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and structural systems, ensuring safety and reliability.

The role includes minor interior/exterior work and coordination with Marketing and Local Leasing for events. Required are 2–3 years of building maintenance, ability to read schematics, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical training/certifications preferred.
• 2–3 years building maintenance experience in carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical and plumbing functions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and schematics.
• Ability to present information to management, tenants, and outside contacts.
• Paint, electrical, plumbing, and drywall skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Ability to diagnose problems on equipment.
• Knowledge of basic electrical systems and safety rules.
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Routinely inspects facility, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, plus structural elements.
• Carry out maintenance and minor repairs on interior/exterior areas (painting, drywall, lighting, etc.).
• Operate equipment to perform preventive maintenance and keep areas clean.
• Support Marketing and Local Leasing with event setup and cart placement/repair.
• Follow OSHA and other safety regulations to maintain a safe workplace.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance programs as directed.
• Maintain inventories, records, MSDS, supplies and tools.
• Periodically inspect air handling units, belts, filters, and grease components; record activity.
• Perform exterior custodial duties as needed (cleaning, trash, etc.).
• Take on additional maintenance duties as assigned.
