Job summary

Simon Property Group in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a Maintenance Worker to troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on the center’s mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, plus interior and exterior upkeep.

Responsibilities include painting, drywall, lighting, belt and filter changes, basic carpentry, and assisting with events. Requires a high school diploma or GED, 2–3 years of building maintenance experience, ability to read drawings, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Technical School certifications and/or training preferred.
• 2–3 years building maintenance experience (carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing).
• Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings.
• Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions.
• Paint, electrical, plumbing and drywall skills.
• Self-starter able to work independently.
• Ability to diagnose problems on equipment.
• Knowledge of basic electrical systems.
• Knowledge of safety rules and accident prevention.
• Basic knowledge of fire protection hydraulics and alarms.
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Routinely inspects facility, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Performs maintenance and minor repairs to interior/exterior areas including painting, drywall, lighting and plumbing.
• Operates equipment to perform preventive maintenance and maintain cleanliness.
• Assists Marketing and Local Leasing with events and cart setup.
• Follows OSHA guidelines to promote a safe working environment.
• Schedules and performs preventive maintenance programs as assigned.
• Maintains inventory, records, MSDS files and supplies.
• Performs exterior custodial duties and waste management as needed.
