Job summary

FirstService Residential in Highland Beach, FL is seeking a Maintenance Staff Member to ensure mechanical systems and equipment run smoothly and common areas remain clean, disinfected, and well-maintained. You will follow safety procedures and complete daily work orders while coordinating with building staff.

The role requires basic maintenance skills in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting and flooring, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• (2) years general experience in building trades, repair and maintenance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Multilingual abilities are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walks floors and roofs to check for problems and lights out, reporting to supervisors.
• Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• Maintains good working relationships with building staff.
• Paints common areas and touches up as needed, inspecting areas needing paint and advising the manager.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Performs casual labor like lifting/moving heavy items following safety procedures.
• Performs minor repairs in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, flooring and other building tasks.
• Follows safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Performs maintenance and repairs in areas not requiring permits.
