Job summary

brc is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician in New York to keep our facility running smoothly. You will perform repairs across carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical, and handle routine upkeep of HVAC and hot water systems.

You'll ensure safety through fire drills, participate in the fire safety team, and coordinate with outside contractors as needed. A high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and strong English communication are required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in English.
• Five years experience in building maintenance.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to use independent discretion and judgement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of facility.
• Make repairs requiring skills such as carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical.
• Responsible for preventative maintenance of cooling/heating and domestic hot water systems.
• Ensure that the periodic maintenance and inspection of elevators, sprinkler systems, fire alarm system and fire extinguishers is performed and documented.
• Arrange for and oversee outside contractors as directed.
• Receive and store deliveries of maintenance/office supplies.
• Move furniture as needed.
• Be a member of the fire safety team.
• Participate in fire drills.
• Related duties as assigned.
