Job summary

BRC is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to perform building maintenance, preventive tasks, and repairs at our New York locations. You will help keep resident areas, offices, and grounds safe, functional, and welcoming through hands-on maintenance and scheduled inspections.

The role requires basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and experience with work orders and preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in facilities or building maintenance.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general repairs.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and work order systems; ability to troubleshoot issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and repair work orders.
• Inspect HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with vendors when needed.
• Keep tools and work areas safe and organized; follow PPE and safety rules.
• Support room turnovers and space reconfigurations.
• Maintain documentation using CMMS for inspections and work performed.
• Engage with staff and residents to ensure safe, welcoming environments.
