Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks an experienced Maintenance Repairman 2 to support the Headquarters in Harrisburg. This role maintains buildings and grounds, works with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, and helps ensure safe, functional facilities for state citizens.

Work involves indoor/outdoor tasks, 40-hour weeks, and no telework. Essential position during emergencies with a fixed schedule. Salary range applies and is non-negotiable in some cases.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or four years in building/plant maintenance with at least two trades.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that covers required knowledges, skills and abilities.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Electrical repairs: replace lighting components, switches, outlets and door hardware.
• Mechanical support: check heat pump systems, clean condensate lines and assist with replacements.
• Plumbing tasks: open drains, repair faucets, replace water lines and fixtures.
• Grounds maintenance: cut grass, control weeds and perform snow removal.
• Woodworking: build, finish and repair shelves and countertops.
• Equipment care: inspect, clean and maintain tools and groundskeeping equipment.
