Job summary

Bonita House is seeking a Property Maintenance Technician in Oakland, CA to oversee daily property operations, safety, and maintenance programs. The role requires strong mechanical knowledge, CMMS and hands-on abilities to manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience with a focus on supervising facilities maintenance teams in industrial or commercial settings.
• Strong mechanical knowledge including HVAC systems repair, plumbing system maintenance, electrical systems troubleshooting, and low voltage electrical experience.
• Proficiency in using CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes.
• Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA standards applicable to facilities management.
• Skilled in reading schematics and technical diagrams related to mechanical and electrical systems.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Mechanical troubleshooting expertise utilizing tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and integrity of locations, systems, and equipment.
• Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs.
• Supervise all construction/tenant improvement work at the properties.
• Oversee facilities upgrades within budget constraints.
• Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs (HVAC, industrial maintenance).
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for property and equipment.
• Assist with maintenance and services at the Grand location including weekly cleaning of the entry foyer.
