  • Proficiency in using CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA standards applicable to facilities management.
  • Skilled in reading schematics and technical diagrams related to mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting expertise utilizing tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Property Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Director of Outpatient Services

Classification: Regular, Full-Time, FLSA Non-Exempt

Pay Range: $22 - $26 Hourly DOE

Worksite: Oakland, CA 94612

Office Hours: Mondays-Fridays 8:30 am-5:00 pm

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic professional who can fill the position of Property Maintenance Technician to oversee the daily operations of Bonita House Inc.’s properties. The ideal candidate will possess property management experience, technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and a strong commitment to safety regulations. As a Property Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of facilities and delivering exceptional service to tenants or clients. This role offers an opportunity to lead facility operations with professionalism, precision, and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the safety and integrity of locations, systems, and equipment, project future needs, including capital requirements and improvements, implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs, and supervise all construction/tenant improvement work at the properties.
  • Develop and implement maintenance repair procedures using a system for tracking work orders and asset management.
  • Oversee project management activities related to facilities upgrades or repairs, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and safety protocols in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs such as HVAC system repair or industrial maintenance projects while managing facilities management budgets effectively.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for property and equipment.
  • Assist with the maintenance and services needed at the Grand location including the weekly cleaning of the entry foyer to the building and any other tasks assigned.
  • Manage the following properties: Temescal, Hearst, Channing, MLK, 1410 and Grand

  • Maintaining the Property Curb Appeal daily
  • Turning Vacant Units per procedure
  • Appliance, HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing Repairs
  • Drywall & Painting Repairs
  • Conducting Unit Inspections
  • Working as a Team
  • Preparing for Inspections
  • Offering Excellent Customer Service
  • Following all company policies & procedures, fair housing laws, etc.
  • Ability to respond to After-Hours maintenance emergencies
  • Picking Up Trash around the property, cleaning out trash enclosures and chutes
  • Other duties assigned by the Supervisor

Travel required:

This position requires regular travel to multiple agency and partner locations within the Bay Area. Employees must have reliable transportation and the ability to reach designated sites within reasonable travel times.
