Baylands Development in the San Francisco–San Mateo County line is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee day-to-day facility maintenance, lead a small team of technicians and vendors, and drive preventative maintenance programs. This working supervisor role combines field work with planning and execution to keep systems reliable.

Qualifications

5+ years in building maintenance, facilities, or property operations.
Strong knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Experience with building automation systems (BMS) and preventative maintenance programs preferred.
Familiarity with cooling towers, pneumatic systems, and general commercial building systems.
Ability to read and interpret basic technical diagrams and manuals.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform and oversee routine maintenance and repairs across buildings, including doors, windows, walls, and general building systems.
Diagnose and repair plumbing issues to prevent water damage and ensure proper fixture operation.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, ensuring compliance with safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
Maintain HVAC systems, including filter changes, cooling tower inspections, and monitoring of motors, VFDs, and supply systems.
Perform general repairs including painting, sealing, and minor construction work.
Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all buildings and equipment.
Identify and address potential safety hazards; coordinate with property management as needed.
Ensure all equipment and systems are operating safely and efficiently.
Monitor and manage work orders to ensure timely completion and quality control.
Assist with and oversee maintenance‑related Tenant Improvement (TI) projects.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
Manage procurement of parts, materials, and supplies for maintenance activities.
Track and manage departmental budget, including labor and materials.
