Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to lead a hands-on maintenance team across multiple Ocean County locations in New Jersey. This full-time role blends on-site repair work with staff supervision, project planning, and ongoing property upkeep to ensure safe, functional environments for programs and residences.

You'll organize repairs, assign tasks, monitor progress, coordinate with vendors, and manage on-call coverage to respond to after-hours maintenance needs

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of professional maintenance or facilities management experience.
• Minimum two (2) years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, general building maintenance, and groundskeeping.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple assignments.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, landscaping machinery, and other maintenance equipment.
• Ability to communicate professionally and provide dependable service to staff, vendors, and program locations.

Responsibilities

• Organize maintenance assignments across agency properties.
• Provide day-to-day direction to maintenance staff, including distributing work assignments and monitoring progress.
• Ensure maintenance projects are completed safely and efficiently.
• Prioritize maintenance based on urgency and operational impact.
• Coordinate ongoing property maintenance to minimize disruptions to agency programs.
• Address routine to complex facility maintenance issues involving building systems, equipment, and general repairs.
• Coordinate landscaping, groundskeeping, and exterior maintenance across locations.
• Prepare repair estimates and assist with larger maintenance projects.
• Communicate with vendors and staff regarding maintenance needs and progress.
• Maintain organized communication and documentation related to maintenance activities.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours maintenance needs.
