Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Facilities Manager for Evangeline Booth Emergency Lodge in Chicago. You will oversee the maintenance, housekeeping and food service interfaces to keep the shelter safe and functional.

The role requires a strong background in building operations, budgeting and staff supervision, with a focus on compliance and service delivery. This is an exempt, full-time position reporting to the Program Director.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of operational/building management.
• Bachelor's degree in business preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of staff supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise building operations, maintenance and housekeeping for 24-hour facility operation.
• Plan and direct preventative maintenance for mechanical, electrical and fire-safety systems.
• Investigate maintenance issues and coordinate outside consultants when needed.
• Ensure safety, report fire hazards and maintain compliance with policies.
• Assist Director on construction projects and facility assignments.
