Job summary

The New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) seeks an HVAC & Facilities Systems Technician to maintain and service the facility's mechanical equipment, control systems, power distribution, and HVAC infrastructure. This role reports to the Chief of Office & Facilities Management.

You will perform preventative maintenance, conduct inspections, coordinate with vendors, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while supporting mailroom and general office tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a professional office setting.
• Strong understanding of design, operation, and maintenance of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive if needed.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Service HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and building maintenance teams for repairs.
• Operate and understand building management systems (BMS).
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in all activities.
• Respond to emergencies outside business hours.
