Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an HVAC Technician in New York. You will be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of all HVAC systems across client properties, including a wide range of equipment and building controls.

Responsibilities include system startup/shutdown, fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and coordinating with subcontractors. A high school diploma, 3+ years of mechanical experience, and refrigerant recovery/HVAC certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience demonstrating a mechanical aptitude acquired through previous job experience or vocational schooling.
• 3-5 Years experience with a refrigerant recovery license and HVAC certification is desired.
• Must demonstrate the ability to operate a company vehicle in a safe manner and hold a valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must also pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operations and maintenance of all HVAC systems, including various units and equipment.
• Perform facility condition assessments of client owned facilities and grounds.
• Start up, regulate, repair and shut down equipment and monitor meters and controls.
• Use hand and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance per manufacturer specs.
• Record events and facts concerning operation in an equipment log.
• Detect potential mechanical problems by observing and listening to machinery.
• Routinely check safety devices and correct issues.
• Develop customer service oriented relationships with client, employees and managers.
• Solve client facilities related problems and ensure occupant safety and comfort.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and perform preventive maintenance programs.
• Report equipment failures and potential liability to supervisor.
• Maintain on-call status 24 hours for critical systems when scheduled.
• Provide supervision of subcontractors and adhere to safety procedures.
