Job summary

Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians is seeking a Utility Worker to maintain Tribal buildings, grounds, and parking areas. The role includes housekeeping, basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks, and safe operation of power tools under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in commercial building maintenance preferred.
• Carpentry, plumbing and electrical repair experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and safety equipment recommended for use during the course of duty.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance tasks as listed for Tribal Buildings, grounds and parking areas.
• Follow rules, regulations, and policies of the Grand Traverse Band.
• Inventory and order supplies or equipment as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties: dusting, mopping, vacuuming and waste disposal.
• Assist with winter snow removal and lawn maintenance as required.
• Handle power tools safely and work independently or in a team.
