Job summary

Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to perform custodial and maintenance tasks across tribal buildings and grounds in Red Cliff, WI. Duties include repairs, landscaping, and preventive maintenance, with on-call availability and occasional travel.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 1 year of related experience if possible, and a valid driver's license. Competitive hourly wage with benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• At least one year of experience in building maintenance, construction, plumbing, or electrical work is strongly preferred but not required.
• Willingness to obtain additional training or education as needed to stay up-to-date.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
• Must work independently, organize workload, and manage time effectively.
• Must possess strong judgment and interpersonal skills and maintain positive working relationships.
• Experience with various types of equipment, power tools, machinery is preferred.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and appropriate vehicle coverage; occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Facilities Maintenance team to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
• Maintain tribal properties, including grounds, sidewalks, parking lots, and buildings.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs (caulking, electrical, plumbing, painting, appliance repair).
• Assist with electrical, heating, and plumbing repairs and troubleshooting.
• Report physical breakdowns and respond to work orders as assigned.
• Maintain grounds and seasonal outdoor maintenance, including snow/ice removal.
