Family Support Services of Amarillo is seeking a Facilities & Grounds Specialist to keep our properties clean, safe, and welcoming for clients, visitors, and staff. This hands-on role covers routine cleaning of public areas and restrooms, basic maintenance, and grounds care, with a focus on identifying facility concerns early.

The ideal candidate is dependable, observant, and comfortable working independently, with general knowledge of building maintenance, basic repairs, and safe tool use

Qualifications

• Clean, sanitize, and restock public areas and restrooms.
• Maintain cleanliness of entrances, hallways, and common areas.
• Identify facility concerns and report them promptly.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and restock public restrooms.
• Maintain cleanliness of entrances, hallways, common areas, meeting spaces.
• Empty trash and monitor waste containers.
• Complete basic handyman work and minor repairs (plumbing, painting, patching, fixtures).
• Mow and maintain grounds at Safe Shelter and neighboring property.
• Keep exterior spaces free of trash and debris.
• Inspect facilities for leaks, water damage, odors, damaged fixtures, lights, or hazards.
• Coordinate access for outside vendors when needed.
• Assist with moving furniture and setting up rooms.
• Maintain basic records of repairs and concerns.
• Protect client privacy and follow safety and confidentiality rules.
