Job summary

CBRE is seeking an FM Engineering Operations Manager to lead engineering operations across a portfolio of facilities, directing high-performing teams and driving operational excellence. You will manage maintenance, safety programs, budgets, and coordinate with tenants, vendors, and contractors to ensure service levels meet client expectations.

You’ll drive improvements, respond to emergencies, and help shape strategy for building performance while pursuing growth through new contract

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 5–8 years of relevant facilities or FM experience.
• Experience in staffing, training, coaching, and performance retention is preferred.
• Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated information and convey performance expectations.
• Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets.

Responsibilities

• Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and mentor. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
• Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
• Manage operations and maintenance for assigned facilities. Develop operating and capital budgets.
• Recommend and implement improvements for preventive maintenance programs and maintain maintenance/safety manuals.
• Point of contact for maintenance with contractors, tenant finish personnel and technicians.
• Oversee all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical; stay current with tech trends.
• Maintain communication with high profile tenants, clients, owners, facility management team and vendors.
• Drive the acquisition of new management contracts; facilitate as-built drawings development.
• Respond to emergencies and customer concerns.
• Lead by example and model CBRE RISE values; influence others within policies and plans.
• Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.
• Understand broader impact across the department.
• Improve and change methods, processes, and standards.
• Additional responsibilities as required.
