Job Description

The Facilities Engineer III - HVAC Utilities provides engineering oversight and technical support for site HVAC and utility systems, including chilled water, hot water, air handling units, exhaust systems, and cleanroom environments. This role ensures reliable operation of temperature-controlled spaces and clean room systems through preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and adherence to cGMP requirements. The engineer works cross-functionally with Facilities, Quality, Validation, contractors, and vendors to support capital projects, change controls, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site's utility infrastructure.

Position Summary & Responsibilities
  • Proficient with engineering oversight of HVAC systems (chilled water, hot water, air handling units, exhaust systems, cleanroom environments as applicable).
  • Experience supporting temperature-controlled chambers (cold rooms, controlled warehouse space, reach in standalone units).
  • Understands clean room HVAC design requirements, and HEPA filters certification process.
  • Develops and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure system reliability and uptime.
  • Provides Facilities support on Capital Projects.
  • Understands and follows site specifications for all projects.
  • Participate in new equipment design specification. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Ensures good engineering and documentation practices are used during job activities.
  • Conduct troubleshooting activities to support Facilities utilities and systems.
  • Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system drawings. Proficient understanding of P&IDs.
  • Lead and coordinate investigations and studies.
  • Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage logistics.
  • Identify temporary and permanent fixes to address issues.
  • Initiate appropriate actions when process deviations occur.
  • Manage and own change controls, corrective actions, impact assessments, change control action items, deviations, and periodic reviews.
  • Monitor records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with representatives from other departments.
  • Attend team meetings to discuss progress, initiatives, and/or other matters.
  • Monitor equipment and/or systems for performance and problem indicators.
  • Perform data entry.
  • Read, understand, and comply with cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), including general safety, lock outs, and so on.
  • Maintain equipment and systems along with their certification records.
  • Support Facilities utilities and systems for issues or utilities improvements.
  • Answer compliance and facilities questions from others.
  • Communicate policies and procedures to employees.
  • Establish visual tracking and other tools to enhance audit readiness and trend analysis.
  • Lead process improvement activities and teams to meet strategic goals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience supporting facilities systems in a GMP environment
  • Prior experience in Maintenance or Technical Documentation

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 5-7 Years Engineering experience in GMP environment.
