Job summary

Muon Space, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Engineer to design, build, activate and maintain our next-generation spacecraft manufacturing facilities in San Jose.

You will lead internal projects, coordinate with contractors, and ensure facilities operate reliably in a fast-paced environment. The role requires 5+ years in MEP/HVAC, strong electrical distribution knowledge, and the ability to manage cross-disciplinary teams onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years designing or building MEP and HVAC systems.
• Experience managing engineering, procurement, and construction processes for aerospace, industrial or large commercial projects.
• Electrical power distribution, transformers, grounding knowledge.
• Experience with UPS, backup generators, and ATS.
• HVAC design principles including HEPA, chillers, boilers.
• Ability to troubleshoot with technicians and coordinate across teams.
• Attention to detail and cross-system awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal facilities and infrastructure projects from concept through commissioning and maintenance.
• Provide engineering support to ensure compliance with standards, codes, and specs.
• Coordinate repair, build, and contingency efforts for HVAC, security, fire protection, and utilities.
• Resolve field design/construction conflicts with multiple parties.
• Oversee capital expenditure processes including reviews and approvals.
• Liaise with local authorities to obtain permits and inspections.
• Communicate schedules and activities to personnel, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure reliable operation of new and modified installations.
• Respond to facility emergencies and maintain readiness procedures.
