Job summary

Macy's Inc. is seeking an Engineer I to maintain store facilities and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems. You will perform preventative maintenance and respond to repairs in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of maintenance experience. You will work with the Chief Engineer and store management, maintain records, and follow safety and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems.
• Familiarity with state and federal safety regulations.
• Ability to read technical manuals and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems.
• Perform emergency, corrective, and routine repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance per schedule.
• Keep detailed inspection and maintenance records.
• Work flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.
• Follow shortage prevention programs.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect.
• Other duties as assigned.
