Job summary

Macy’s is seeking an Engineer I to maintain the store's physical structure and equipment, ensuring reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, address emergencies, and coordinate with store management to meet facility needs.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and at least 1 year of experience, and be capable of lifting 30lbs with the ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of prior maintenance or facilities experience.
• Candidate should be able to perform heavy lifting and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems and equipment.
• Perform emergency, corrective, and routine repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance according to a scheduled plan.
• Keep detailed records of inspections and repairs for compliance.
• Work flexible hours as directed by supervision.
• Support special projects and other duties as needed.
