Job summary

Kennedy-King College, part of the City Colleges of Chicago, seeks an Engineer to support operation, maintenance and improvement of campus facilities on Chicago's South Side. You will report to the Chief Engineer and ensure safe, efficient building system operation for students, faculty, staff and visitors.

The role requires licensure, high school diploma, and HVAC knowledge, with a preference for Local 399 membership and pool experience.

Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Requires Stationary Engineers License.
Preference for Local 399 membership.
Must understand operation and repair of HVAC systems and related equipment.
Pool maintenance experience preferred.
Familiarity with rooftop HVAC units.
Knowledge of other trades.

Responsibilities

Ensures the safe and efficient operation of equipment, machinery and buildings.
Operates and repairs heating and ventilation equipment, steam plants, motors, combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, ice and refrigeration equipment, air-conditioning units, fans and automatic/power oiling pumps and engines.
Adheres to all standards of operation, laws, statues and industry best practices.
Maintains building equipment and machinery to keep them in excellent working conditions.
Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
