Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer in Pennsylvania to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and safety controls. The role supports preventive maintenance, complies with codes, and aims to optimize energy usage.

You will also participate in safety training, mentor junior staff, and ensure operations align with client environmental requirements. A strong technical background and problem-solving mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience
• Universal CFC certification is preferred; certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Comply with codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
• Maintain an energy management program and ensure systems operate efficiently.
• Assist with preventive maintenance programs and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a safe workplace.
• Review building system inspections (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) to ensure operations meet design and environment specs.
• Apply knowledge to complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge across related job disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and promote CBRE RISE values to reach agreements and impact operations.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information to stakeholders.
