Job summary

Cardinal Bay, at Carriage Inn Lake Jackson, seeks a Director of Maintenance to lead daily facilities operations and supervise maintenance staff. Responsibilities include coordinating repairs, ensuring code compliance, and managing safety programs while providing training to staff and residents’ care partners.

The role requires extensive maintenance experience, EPA certification or ability to obtain, Texas driver’s license, and strong communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Five plus years as a Maintenance Technician with supervisory experience preferred.
• EPA Universal Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with clean record.
• Computer proficiency with maintenance systems (TELS a plus).
• Excellent communication in English with residents and colleagues.
• Willingness to undergo a routine background check.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance requests and log progress to completion.
• Lead carpentry, HVAC, plumbing and electrical repairs or coordinate with contractors.
• Monitor building systems and ensure code compliance (fire safety, OSHA, health regs).
• Oversee preventive maintenance and 24/7 emergency response.
• Supervise maintenance staff and housekeeping; participate in hiring and performance decisions.
• Coordinate external contractors and ensure Make-Ready of vacant rooms.
