Job summary

Cedarhurst Living is seeking a Maintenance Director to lead maintenance and housekeeping operations in a senior living community. You will supervise staff, ensure safety, and coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance to uphold a pristine environment for residents.

The role requires basic carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC knowledge, along with CPR/BLS certification and state licenses as applicable. Strong leadership and computer skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of relevant maintenance experience preferred.
• Accredited maintenance training may substitute experience.
• Active state license(s) as required.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic carpentry, drywall, painting and plumbing knowledge.
• Proficient with basic computer systems and software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and housekeeping staff and coordinate activities.
• Maintain interiors to high cleanliness standards and repair wear.
• Keep grounds in good condition and manage exterior repairs.
• Implement and document preventative maintenance programs.
• Prepare and refurbish units for move-ins, including repairs and cleaning.
• Maintain safety records and SDS catalogues; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Inspect units for hazards and coordinate follow-ups with leadership.
• Utilize building management software to track tasks and work orders.
• Perform repairs on equipment and facility systems.
• Collaborate with team; take initiative and resolve conflicts as needed.
