Job summary

Balfour Beatty Communities is seeking a Facility Manager/Director to oversee daily operations of the community repair and maintenance function at a single installation. You will supervise maintenance personnel, manage budgets, and ensure safety and compliance.

You will lead planning, inspections, and team development while coordinating with Project Directors and Community Managers to meet resident satisfaction and project goals. Strong leadership and technical knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in facilities management.
• Proficient in bid management, forecasting, budget preparation and financial management.
• Strong people management, leadership, customer relations and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel and proficient in Yardi preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and manage several projects under tight deadlines.
• Working knowledge of local building codes and OSHA standards including Hazmat, EPA and Universal Waste protocols preferred.
• Possession of a valid state-issued driver’s license and safe driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, financial reporting, employee development and customer service for maintenance team.
• Inspect property to ensure proper upkeep of assets.
• Forecast maintenance needs and manage time for residents' satisfaction and project completion.
• Attend LifeWorks events as needed.
• Build and develop a motivated maintenance team to meet company goals.
• Coordinate with military executives and project management to improve maintenance initiatives.
• Monitor financial and operational metrics and ensure budget adherence while delivering high service levels.
• Review and update maintenance policies and procedures to enhance customer service and safety.
• Oversee safety, hazmat and environmental plans and Zero Harm initiatives at the installation.
