Job summary

SCS Engineers seeks an experienced engineering professional to lead design, project management, and business development for Transfer Stations and MRFs across the Southwest region. The role includes client contact, proposal development, and oversight of staff to ensure quality, schedule, and profitability.

The position can be based in any Southwest office (CA, AZ, NV, UT) or remotely, with responsibilities spanning technical leadership, QA, and cross-functional coordination to grow the practice

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred but not required.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant design experience with transfer stations and MRFs.
• Business development experience on the West Coast preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and foster team spirit with all levels of personnel.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and set an example of personal conduct and ethics.
• Serve as Project Director on project deliverables with emphasis on client contact and liaison; support Project Managers; assist in proposals and budgets.
• Implement the company’s Quality Assurance Program in the Southwest Region; provide QA reviews for projects and proposals.
• Provide technical expertise on equipment, design, permitting, commissioning, and operations of MRFs and Transfer Stations; assess performance.
• Guide Project Managers in staffing, resource allocation, and project execution.
• Develop and implement strategic marketing programs and formal business development plans.
