Job summary

RMS Energy Co. is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to lead technical design projects and support critical energy infrastructure across the United States. This remote-capable role blends hands-on design with field insight, delivering power system solutions from analysis to commissioning.

You will collaborate with engineering and field services teams, travel 15–20% across the continental U.S., and contribute to growth in the substation and power systems space while prioritizing safety.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in power system design and commissioning support.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and power system modeling tools (SKM, EasyPower, ETAP).
• Knowledge of protection schemes and substation layouts.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze complex electrical power systems and substation upgrades.
• Develop equipment specifications, drawing packages, and installation plans.
• Perform short-circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies with SKM/EasyPower/ETAP.
• Create relay settings for electromechanical and digital relays.
• Visit job sites to collect field data and assist commissioning.
• Ensure safety and PPE compliance around energized equipment.
