Job summary

CHELTENHAM SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Custodial Supervisor to lead the 2nd shift custodial staff across district facilities. The role emphasizes supervision, staff development, and ensuring high standards of maintenance and safety.

The Supervisor reports to the Director and Assistant Director of Facilities and Maintenance and will coordinate with multiple departments to maintain building readiness for events and daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate Degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of custodial work and supervision experience.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, preferably in a union environment.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and data management programs.
• Familiarity with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 2nd shift custodial staff, assign work, rotate personnel and conduct evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with fire codes and safety regulations; inspect alarms and extinguishers.
• Coordinate snow/ice removal and supervise after-hours site security and events.
• Monitor buildings during nights and weekends to deter vandalism and damage.
• Maintain inventory and ordering of custodial supplies; prepare procedures and reports.
