Job summary

Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 is seeking a Custodial/Maintenance Supervisor to oversee district custodial and maintenance staff across multiple sites. You will ensure the appearance, safety, and upkeep of buildings and grounds, working under the Director of Buildings and Grounds and collaborating with school principals.

The role requires strong leadership, the ability to read blueprints, and hands-on knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and boilers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum five years in maintenance in a district or multi-building setting.
• Valid Illinois driver's license required.
• On-call emergencies and after-hours work availability.
• HVAC/electrical/plumbing/boilers licensure preferred.
• Demonstrated staff management and leadership skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction specifications.
• Familiarity with energy management and facility software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise custodial and maintenance staff and direct work assignments.
• Perform daily facility tours for quality, cleanliness, and safety.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance projects and summer programs.
• Respond to alarms after hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintain records, reports, and inventories; coordinate with vendors.
• Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating personnel.
• Communicate with administration, staff, and the community.
