Job summary

STI in Nashville, TN is seeking a Custodial Operations Supervisor to oversee daily custodial activities for school facilities. The role ensures clean, safe, and sanitary conditions across district buildings and coordinates with administrators on maintenance needs.

The supervisor will lead a team, develop cleaning schedules, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. The shift runs 7:00am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience equivalent to four years of increasingly responsible full-time custodial work with at least two years in supervision.
• Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA training) are a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Outstanding organizational skills; great attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Job description

is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the custodial staff to ensure that all school district facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition. This role involves supervising custodial personnel, coordinating cleaning schedules, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Shift would be 7am – 3:30pm M-F.

Duties And Responsibilities

Other Functions

• Primarily performed on school premises.
• May require occasional after-hours or weekend work for special events or emergencies.
• Occasional travel may be required for training or conferences.

KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and safety protocols applicable to school environments. Knowledge of building maintenance and repair practices. Familiarity with custodial equipment, tools, and cleaning chemicals. Understanding of district policies, health and safety regulations, and OSHA standards. Knowledge of inventory management and supply ordering. Awareness of emergency procedures and protocols related to school safety.
