Job summary

Oakland Human Resources Consortium seeks a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to plan and oversee maintenance and repair work, ensuring safety and compliance with the district program. The role includes supervising custodians, scheduling, and evaluating performance.

Candidates should have basic plumbing/electrical knowledge, boiler license, computer literacy, and familiarity with energy management systems, plus the ability to organize schedules and train staff. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a boiler license.
• Good work and attendance record.
• Basic knowledge in plumbing, electrical and mechanical trouble-shooting and repair.
• General computer knowledge.
• Knowledge of energy management systems.
• Ability to organize work schedules, train and supervise personnel.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee all maintenance and repair work, maintaining a high standard of safety utilizing the current district maintenance program.
• Help in the selection, assignment, scheduling and training of general custodians.
• Evaluate the performance of custodial staff on a regular basis.
• Maintain an inventory and recommend purchase of supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to perform services in the following areas: Operation of boilers and related mechanical equipment; cleaning operations; general maintenance of buildings.
• Ability to handle emergency procedures including disconnection of utilities.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Director of Building and Grounds.
