Job summary

Halifax Regional Centre for Education is seeking a dedicated Caretaker to support the Operations Services Department. You will maintain cleanliness, upkeep and security of the school facility and supervise assigned staff, reporting to the Building Management Supervisor.

This role requires proactive, professional service to ensure a safe, sanitary, and attractive learning environment. Applicants should have a High School Diploma, custodial experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, and proficiency with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum custodial experience; or 3 years alternative janitorial experience.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs for cleaning tasks.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook).
• Experience with routine and preventative maintenance.
• Willing to work day, evening and night shifts.
• Knowledge of SAP is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, maintenance and security of the school facility.
• Supervise assigned custodial staff.
• Ensure a clean, safe, sanitary and attractive building for users.
• Report to the Building Management Supervisor.
