Job summary

CBRE is seeking an experienced Building Engineer in San Jose, CA to maintain and repair critical building systems. You will monitor mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control systems, ensure safety compliance, and support a high-visibility client-facing facility for daily operations.

The role requires 4–5 years of related experience, MS Office proficiency, and the ability to work physically demanding shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4-5 years related experience (or combo of education and experience).
• Universal CFC certification preferred; licenses as required by local/state jurisdictions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and meet physical requirements.
• MS Office proficiency; strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and safety directives.
• Manage energy usage; keep systems efficient.
• Participate in preventive maintenance; perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow policies for handling hazardous materials and maintain a clean, safe workplace.
• Review building system inspections (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) for proper operation.
• Apply standard principles to implement complex tasks and provide practical solutions.
