Avison Young is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventative maintenance, inspect mechanical rooms, and handle light repairs in a fast-paced commercial environment in the Boston area. The role requires independence, reliability, and strong collaboration with the Property Management Team.

The position offers a base hourly rate aligned with market data (approx. $30.00–$34.00/hour) with potential bonus opportunities, reflecting location and experience.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in commercial building maintenance.
• Massachusetts driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must have own hand tools.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communications and customer service skills.
• Ability to pass background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor building management systems and other monitoring tech.
• Perform light repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and tiling.
• Conduct daily inspections of mechanical rooms and spaces.
• Assist with HVAC systems, heat pumps and related controls.
• Provide on-call support on rotating schedule and respond to requests.
• Coordinate with property management and vendors as needed.
• Maintain accurate work orders and documentation.
