Medgar Evers College (MEC) is seeking a Facilities Property Specialist to support administration, tracking, reconciliation, and maintenance of property and facilities-related financial records. The role reports to the Financial Controller and involves coordinating property management activities, audits, and documentation across college departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
• Experience in property or fixed asset management and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and databases; familiarity with asset management systems.
• Knowledge of policies related to property management, procurement, fixed assets, records management, and audit requirements; audits experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate with stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Maintains property records and documentation; ensures asset data is current and auditable.
• Enters and retrieves asset information in financial and property systems; checks for completeness.
• Resolves discrepancies in property records and communicates findings to College personnel.
• Coordinates property verification activities; prepares inventory materials and tracks responses.
• Processes documentation for asset additions, transfers, retirements, and other changes per procedures.
• Prepares routine reports, data summaries, and schedules related to property and equipment.
• Reviews documentation from departments for completeness and accuracy; follows up on missing information.
• Provides administrative assistance regarding property-management processes and forms.
